Ethan Indigo Smith was born in Maine, his mother a nurse and his father a farmer. Ethan eventually moved to New York City with his mother. His father remained a steadfast farmer and blues musician.
Ethan's New York City upbringing was a stark contrast to the farming community in Maine, but each a cultural immersion in its own way. While in The Melting Pot of Harlem, Washington Heights, Inwood, and The Bronx Ethan learned about the streets and the reality of the world reflected in the streets. Ethan dropped out of high school and went back to the farm and eventually graduated high school in Mendocino, California.
Ethan attended some college in Santa Cruz, California, before settling down in Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Ethan moved to Tahoe to reflect on his life course for a winter, and twenty years later was still actively pursuing his interest snowboarding and working for a snowboard company. Still in Tahoe but snowboarding less Ethan continues to pursue writing on consciousness, on timely social situations and on timeless esoteric topics. He teaches Tai Chi locally and online.
Now educated in the healing arts through his Tai Chi practice (Wu 108 Long Form) Physical Training, Yoga for athleticism and healing, and meditation for dealing with gravity beyond athletics, Ethan teaches Tai Chi, authors books and articles, and offers counsel.
